DIY: Pore Minimizer

Being in a country where it is constantly 35 degree celsius, requires extra care for the skin to feel clean. Even the driest skin can begin to feel oily and oily skin just feels downright drenched. Although humidity is good for our skin, extreme heat kicks the sebaceous glands to overwork and tada.. the result is oily skin.

When it is hot and humid our pores tend to get clogged even more frequently. The larger the pores on the face are, the more likely they are to become clogged with dirt and bacteria. Trapped dirt and bacteria are the reasons for all the pimples, skin infections, acnes, and blackheads. Keeping your pores clean and small is essential to the health of the skin. Besides expensive products that helps in taking care the skin, you caan make your own pore minimizers with ingredients that you already have in your kitchen.

Baking Soda Pore Minimizer

  • A simple baking soda scrub will do wonders when it comes to minimizing your pores. Before you use the scrub, however, you'll want to wash your face with gentle soap and water.
After you've washed your face, place 2 tbsp. baking soda in the palm of your hand and add just enough water to form a thick paste. Massage the paste into your face, resisting the urge to scrub, for about 30 seconds. Rinse the paste away with cool water.
You should notice that your pores are smaller almost immediately. After a week of this regime you'll see visible results as your skin becomes clearer and less prone to breakouts.

Pineapple Facial Scrub

  • This incredible smelling facial scrub will not only minimize your pores but will cleanse and soften your skin.
Mix 1/2 cup crushed pineapple and 1/2 cup cornmeal in a small mixing bowl until they are well blended and then refrigerate for 10 minutes. Remove the mixture from the refrigerator and mix in 2 tbsp. jojoba oil until well blended.
Gently massage the mixture onto your face, in circular motions. Leave the blend on your face for up to 10 minutes before rinsing it away with cold water.
You can store the leftover mixture in your refrigerator, using it daily, for up to seven days. If you'd prefer to use fresh pineapple or can't find crushed, you can take whatever type you have and process it in a blender until it makes a lumpy mush. If you use canned pineapple, make sure you use fruit packed in water instead of syrup.

Pore Cleansing Strips

  • Pores that are dirty and full of dirt can't be minimized, no matter how hard you try. This recipe will help you to clean out your pores so that your body can naturally minimize them once they are empty.
Gather 1 tbsp. of unflavored gelatin, 1 1/2 tbsp. of milk and a clean cosmetic brush. Mix the gelatin and milk in a small bowl and place it in the microwave on a high setting for no more than 10 seconds. The mixture should be slightly warm to the touch.
Use your cosmetic brush to apply the mixture to your face, especially to problem areas around the nose, chin and forehead. Allow the mixture to dry on your face, 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse your cosmetic brush immediately after application.
When the mixture dries it will feel like a stiff film. Peel the film away from your face and take a close look. The dirt and grime that was once stuck in your pores is now stuck to the film. Now that your pores are empty, your body will be able to naturally close them, automatically minimizing their appearance. To help the pore minimizing process you'll need to rinse your face with cold water to encourage contract (or closure) of the open pores.

ME TIME:One college semester

Next week. Is. Final. Exams.

I am in denial.

Ok! You gotta be proud of me! I am uploading a new post as I had promise!! Despite the fact i still need to read bezillion notes for my exams. You just have to be proud of me! yes yes yes!! HAHA!

As this is the fourth week of April, means.... it is ME TIME!! :D My vain post of my blog.

One college semester. A lot of things can happen in one college semester. You gain more knowledge, you see more things, you get older. Yea, You get the picture.

Academic
I took 5 subjects this semester, and I do regret making that decision. I made this decision with the thought of stretching myself to see whether I am able to cope with it. The cold hard no hit my face in just the 3rd week of this semester.
Why? You may ask, it is cause I took a fourth year subject in my 2nd semester. Coming from a ex-chemical engineering student, I still have lots to learn in this international business course. First, I am still learning the theories, and when the teacher link it to today's world economy. I am lost. For the first few weeks, i was blur in the class. Praise God, with time came knowledge, I was soon able to understand. Eventhough it might be slightly late, but i am just glad that i am able to understand.
What is more important than achieving the grades, is the comfort feeling you get by understanding something that you struggle.

One quote i really live by.

Dont regret the past. Learn from it, make the best out of the present for the future. -Pearl Tan

No point drowning in the decisions that you could have made. Instead pick yourself up, and ask what is the best way for me to go from here.

Social
I met crazy lots of new friends this semester. One friendship lead me to picking up my old latin costume and perform in it.
It was really really fun meeting a guy who had the similar dance background as me. and it was a sickening performance. Definitely nauseatic for me, for it bring lots of memories.
Besides that, i was able to meet cool friends that encourage me to really go out of my comfort zone and pick up a whole new genre of dance- Hip Hop!
After my finals, i am going to take classes on that.
New journey!

First time
I donated blood!! Yes i did!
I am super duper afraid of needles, like i tremble before they insert the needle in me and i will not move my arm at all!!

Then if you are so afraid then why would you do it?
1) My boyfriend forced me. Chubby bunny reminded me of a promise I made to him before he left for Australia, and now, he is back. OF COURSE, he redeem the deal. I had no way out of this. My weight remain 47kg since i was year 9. I am not sick at the moment. I haven't went out of the country. In other words, no way out of it. So i quietly signed the application form, and do the blood test and everything like a good girl. Thanks Babey for forcing me out of my comfort zone. Love you<3 p="">

2) To save lives. My blood type is O, which means I am the generous lover. People who accept my blood is gonna be happy and grateful, because now the love is transfuse into them:D That is how i see it!

ignore the tired face. Thank you:D

That is all I have for ME TIME! Next week it is gonna be TUTOOOOORIIIIAAAALLLLL(tutorial)!

What is coming up!!

Obviously, I didn't take the time to write. Obviously, I been procrastinating. Obviously, i told myself to stop procrastinating and later then say.. I will do it tomorrow. SO TODAY I WILL DO IT!

The blogpost is basically going to set the path of this blogs, and also to get me to get things done and put it out for you guys. The main reason why i started going back to blogging is so that i can share my experiences, my knowledge, and most importantly, my passion in makeup and dance with everybody on this planet earth. (On separate note: I do wonder whether are there other species living being out of mother earth. If there is, i would share this to them as well, provided they have the same skin type:P)

FInally, it hits me. The more I choose to procrastinate, the more i am not living up to my dream and what i stand for everyday. Which is to be inspired, and to inspire. I am constantly inspired by people around me to work hard for my dream, to learn as much as I can, to do as much as i can, by stepping out of my comfort zone, and not regretting the past. Hey, past is the past, you can't change it, but you sure can change your present to make your future.

What is my ultimate dream? To produce a line of cosmetic and beauty product that emphasize on health and yet is vibrant and beautiful. You can live your world with colour and all, and with products that focus on health, you live even longer, and happier to experience more years in your life. That is my dream.

Hence, with that i came up with a schedule!! Every Friday, I will post a blog! YEAHHHH!!! and the style of it will be like this:

First week: A makeup tutorial
Second week: DIY products
Third week: Knowledge on beauty and health/ Basic makeup techniques
Fourth week: A wrap up of my month (ME TIME:D)
*Fifth week: One of the first three week

yes yes! i am really determine to get this starting. I wanna be the most extraODDinary me, and i want everyone that reads my blogs to be an extraODDinary person themselves! I hope that ppl can get as inspire as I am, when i learn new things:D

An hour and a half!

In an hour and a half, you can do a lot of things, such as watching 3 episodes of Modern Family, revise a chapter of Macroeconomics, and the list goes on. Today, my one hour and a half was spend meeting back friends that taught and educated me about working life!

Yes! I went back to the company which I interned for 2 months. The company is called INK | INKsports PR & Publications . They were so kind in taking me in as their intern especially since I have no experience whatsoever in the field. I went in and did the interview. In the interview, they asked me why I want to be their intern, I remember answering that I want to know the business and understand how everything works. I was actually so so so nervous that I didn't know what I was saying, but Praise the Lord i got the internship!

Today, when I went back, I met up with the KWAPs! It stands for the first alphabets of our name:D

Kubrina, Wy Lyn, Abygayle and me<3 nbsp="nbsp">

I sorta forced her to let me carry her! But boy, why are you so skinny!!:D We both have the typical chinese smiles: once you see our teeth, you can't see our eyes!
Kwapies!

I didnt managed to see an awesome lady as she was away. Beloved Cornelia prepared my birthday pressie months ago, and I finally got to go and get it!! Thank you so much! Really appreciate it!

My heart beats for you!

Insides is filled with adorable stuffs! There is a handphone holder doll which seriously looks like me, a ice cream calculator, a PUMA's Bolt shoot in which I was involved in their shoot, and my favourite Heong Piang!
Those 2 months, I learned on how to always be on my toes, getting ready for a call or a job. They made me laugh and I made them laugh. Shared tears, joy, and knowledge:D Love you guys to bits!

KNITTING: Helsinki hat

Mid-term exams are finally over!! (yip yip hooray) I haven't been blogging because I been busy planning for November and wanted to do some things different for a change. October had been a bit slow for me, as it is a planning month. So which means in the coming months, there will quite a lot of interesting things lined up! Hope you are as excited as I am!:D

Recently I been quite hook to Pinterest, and i discovered some really cool sites for knitting, such as Wool and the Gang, Purlbee and more. I had always love knitting, however I do live in a country where the weather is rain or shine, so there isn't much opportunities for me. So far all that i have knitted are scarves!! So I am very proud of myself for knitting this hat.

I got the pattern, and instructions from Wool and the Gang. Their pattern and their style are very simple but yet chic! I did change the number of stitches and row as my yarns are thinner. Soooooo, just experiment with it. I managed to make this in 2 nights! Good job, Pearl!

Pardon my makeup-less face and that you have to see my eyebags. I couldn't wait. Sorry!:P

Beauty Expo + Sephora Goodies!

Hello everybody!!!!:D

Finally, yes, finally i can post this up! I wanted to do this way back, but due to the crazy amount of college works and being sick in bed with a injured back, let me just scream that it really wasn't a good combination!:(

Okay. I shall stop laughing at that gif. I just love it to bits:D Back to the goodies, this are all that i got!

The moment I stepped into the convention center, I went straight to the skincare department. If anything, skincare is equally as important as makeup for me. A good skin is the best canvas. That is my principles:)

Collagen masks! So happy I got this! The Gold is for my mum, while the Crystal is for me.
This is a very popular serum among makeup artists. We use this for brides and all, it basically moisturize your face x100times, lift up your faceskin, and prevent the natural oil from caking the makeup. Bought this for work, as mine finished:D

I spend a good hour in the skincare section and besides this, I really couldn't find anything else that i wanted, and I decided to move on and not look back.
Stocking up! I bought this from a korean lady who couldn't really speak English, but the moment I held this bag, I know i have to buy this. The sponges are really soft, and the pores of the sponges are fine. I got this packet for RM10, so after i used one, i can just throw it away. Aren't I hygienic?:D She was so lovely, she gave me a nail filer as well, FOR FREE! :D
So yeah, being in a korean section, means SCARY MODE TIME! My eyes were like an eagle's, looking for something that really really catches my eyes. and WALA! I found the perfect kiosk, with a handsome man standing there:3

This man basically told me the story about this brand,  you can check them out in Touch in SOL. I really really like their products. It is very like in texture and very sheer. I will do a review on the blusher.
They ran out of stock for the bb cream that i wanted to try, so they gave me a sample:D

I decided to buy this palette of blusher because it is perfect. There is orange and its' highlighter, same goes for the pink one. It was just exactly what i was looking for, and it was only RM50.

Good news is that they might be opening a section of their products in Watson's and I simply can't wait. Their goods are really good:D

My Beauty expo shopping actually stopped here, but then my Sephora's shopping begins!

I actually knew exactly what i want to get even before going! I think people that knows me really well, could tell what i wanted to get.

You are right! The First Naked palette from Urban Decay! The package came along with a small bottle of eyeshadow primer!

As you can see, i already tried some on.. AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT!
For the Naked palette, I will make some makeup tutorials in the future for you to play around with it. I have quite a number of ideas of look that i think you guys will love it. so STAY TUNED!!

Tips that change my life!

Hello, everybody!!

Before i go on, watch this...

After I watched this, I was very inspired. To be bullied, to be looked down, to be pitied didn't bring this man down. In fact, I think he has the most genuine smile in this world:D Those points i mentioned, easily anyone who is fully capable of doing anything, dwelled in the thought of negativeness, and can't get out of it.

I, for one, am a very optimistic person, who make it a must to try something new every month. Just do it! Those were the words that I tell myself, and just believe and work around it. The positive energy that motivates you will pull all the good things towards you! It took me 3 years to realize that, and i'm glad that it only took me 3 years:D

I wanna share my personal tips that drives me and keep me optimistic and strong. Sharing is caring!:D

Things that I believe that can change lives.

  1. Hang out with people that supports your dreams and motivates you to work towards it.
  2. Write it down, and visualize the dream of your lifetime happening.
  3. To pick yourself up. One failure today means you are closer to your success.
  4. Be prepared spiritually, mentally and physically to face challenges.
  5. Be optimistic at ALL times.
Last, but not least.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Enjoy!
